  Your Axis Security Camera may be accessible locally but not externally due to several reasons: a firewall might be blocking the connection, the default router settings may need configuration, or the internet site might be overloaded. Check the Internet firewall with your system administrator and see if you need to configure the default router settings. If the Internet site is too heavily loaded, use a script running on your web server to relay images from the AXIS 233D to the Internet.

  If you're having trouble setting the IP address for your Axis Security Camera, keep in mind: the IP address must be set within two minutes after powering on the device, so restart the camera and try again, ensuring the ping length is set to 408. If that doesn't work, it's possible the camera is on a different subnet; contact your network administrator for an IP address on the same subnet as your computer. Alternatively, the IP address might already be in use by another device, in which case you'll need to obtain a new IP address and reinstall the unit. Using ARP Ping.

To solve the IP address issue: 1. Move the camera to an isolated network or one without a DHCP or BOOTP server and set the IP address again using AXIS IP Utility or the ARP Ping command. 2. Access the unit and disable BOOTP and DHCP in the TCP/IP settings, then return the unit to the main network. To check for other networking problems, test the network cable by connecting it to another network device, then Ping that device from your workstation.
