Thiscameraisdesignedtodeliveruptofourdifferentstreams.Ifafthuniquestreamisrequested,thecameracanʼt
provideit,andanerrormessageisdisplayed.Theerrormessagedependsonthewaythestreamisrequested.The
streamsareusedonarstcome,rstservedbasis.Examplesofinstancesthatuseastreamare:
•Liveviewinginawebbrowserorotherapplication
•Whilerecording-continuousormotiontriggeredrecording
•Aneventthatusesimagesonthecamera,forexampleaneventthatsendsane-mailwithanimage
everyhour
•Aninstalledandrunningapplication,suchasAXISVideoMotionDetection,willalwaysconsumeavideo
stream,whetheritisusedornot.Astoppedapplicationdoesnotconsumeavideostream.
Thecameracandelivermorethanfoursimultaneousstreamsprovidedthecongurationofanyadditionalstream
isidenticaltoanyoftherstfourstreams.Identicalcongurationimpliesexactlythesameresolution,framerate,

Performanceconsiderations
Whensettingupyoursystem,itisimportanttoconsiderhowvarioussettingsandsituationsaffecttheperformance.
Somefactorsaffecttheamountofbandwidth(thebitrate)required,otherscanaffecttheframerate,andsomeaffect
both.IftheloadontheCPUreachesitsmaximum,thisalsoaffectstheframerate.
Thefollowingfactorsarethemostimportanttoconsider:
•Highimageresolutionorlowercompressionlevelsresultinimagescontainingmoredatawhichinturn
affectsthebandwidth.
•RotatingtheimageintheGUIwillincreasetheproduct'sCPUload.
•AccessbylargenumbersofMotionJPEGorunicastH.264clientsaffectsthebandwidth.
•AccessbylargenumbersofMotionJPEGorunicastH.265clientsaffectsthebandwidth.
•Simultaneousviewingofdifferentstreams(resolution,compression)bydifferentclientsaffectsbothframe
rateandbandwidth.
Useidenticalstreamswhereverpossibletomaintainahighframerate.Streamprolescanbeusedto
ensurethatstreamsareidentical.
•AccessingMotionJPEGandH.264videostreamssimultaneouslyaffectsbothframerateandbandwidth.
