5.3 Alignment
TheAlignmentscreen(Figures5-3and5-4),identifiesthelocationofthefirstandlast
beamsmade(clear)andbroken(blocked),plusthetotalnumberofbeamsmadeand
broken.Thebeamsarenumberedinsequencefromthecableendofthesensorsto
thetopend.Thisisvaluableduringsetup,foranalyzingexactlywhatisbeingseenby
thelightscreen.(The Diagnostics screenindicatesanyproblemswiththeemitteror
thereceiver;seeSection6.3formoreinformation.)
Models MAC-1, MACP-1, MACN-1, MACV-1, and MACI-1
Todisplaycurrentinformation,selectthedesiredChannelStatusOption(Broken,
MadeorBoth)andselectRun.Thechartontherightsideofthescreenshowsthe
status(brokenormade)ofeachbeaminthearray.Beamstatusiscontinuously
updatedtoallowaccuratepositioningofthearray,and/oranalysisofsensing
response.ToexittheAlignmentscreen,firstselectStop,thenselectExit.
Models MAC16P-1 and MAC16N-1
TheAlignmentscreen(Figure5-4)displaysthestatusofeachbeamalongtheentire
lengthofthelightscreen.
Theinformationdisplayedincludesthetotalnumberofopticalchannels(labeledas
Beams),thenumberofblocked,made,andblankedbeams.Eachchannelstateis
indicatedaseither1-made,0-blocked,orB-blanked.Otheralignmentfunctionsallow
theusertoscanonastepcommandandtoadjusttheblankingfields.Eachchannel
canbeindividuallyblanked.Whenachannelisblanked,thecontrollerignoresthe
stateofthechannelanddoesnotconsiderthechannelwhencalculatingmeasurement
modedata.SeeSection5.5.4formoreinformationaboutblanking.
