Contact Inputs and Outputs DECS-150
Watchdog output connections are made at terminals WD3 (normally open), WD2 (common), and WD1
(normally closed).
During normal operating conditions, the WD3 contact is closed and the WD1 contact is open.
Programmable Outputs
The two programmable, normally-open contact outputs can be configured to annunciate DECS-150
status, active alarms, active protection functions, and active limiter functions. Using BESTlogicPlus
programmable logic, these outputs can be used as part of a user-configured logic scheme to control and
annunciate a variety of system conditions and contingencies. Information about using the programmable
outputs in a logic scheme is provided in the BESTlogicPlus section.
To make the programmable contact outputs easier to identify, you can assign a custom name (up to 64
alphanumeric characters) that relates to the functions of your system. Figure 7-2 shows the
BESTCOMSPlus Contact Outputs screen where each output can be assigned a custom name.

Breaker Shunt Trip Output
This output provides an electronic switch capable of 100 mAdc that can be used to control an external
circuit breaker. The breaker shunt trip output terminals are labeled ST+ and ST−.
