6.9.4. Inspection of the gas system
TesttheLPGsystemforleakageregularly.Checkallconnectionsforleakageby:
1. Routine checks with a leak detector
2. Manualleaktesting:Testingwithsoapywaterordetergentsolution(withappliance-burnervalvesclosedand
cylinderandsystemvalvesopen)
Caution
» LPGlinesmustbeinspectedregularly,atleastannually,andreplacedifanydeteriorationis
found.
» Ifleakageispresent,closethecylindervalveandhavethesystemrepairedbeforefurtheruse.
Gassystemrepairsshouldonlybeexecutedbyacompetentperson.
» To be able to check the gas connections at the stove the front covers must be removed.
Danger
» Donotsmokeoruseopenamewhilecontrollingforleakages.
» DonotsmokeoruseopenamewhenreplacingLPGcylinders.
» Do not use gas cylinders with damaged threads. Danger of gas leakage.
» Do not use grease or sealants at the valves.
Note:Gassystemtightnesstest
With appliance valves closed!
» Opencylindervalve.closecylindervalveagain
» Waituntilthemanometer(inthepressurisedline)hassettledonaconstantreading
» Observethemanometerfor3minutes
» Thereisnoleakifthepressurereadingisconstant-shouldthepressuredrop,thereisaleak
Closethevalveatthebottle,havetheleakrepaired-donotusethegassystem,beforeithas
been repaired.
