Maintenance overview
Introduction This topic provides an overview of the flow cytometer routine
maintenance and cleaning procedures.
General use
guidelines
Follow these guidelines whenever operating or maintaining the
cytometer:
• Wear suitable protective clothing, eyewear, and gloves.
• Handle all biological specimens and materials in accordance
with applicable regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Dispose of waste using proper precautions and in accordance
with local regulations.
• Never pipette by mouth.
For fluidics maintenance, we recommend the following cleaning
solutions:
•BD® FACSClean solution
•BD® FACSRinse solution
• 10% bleach solution
Use DI water to dilute bleach to appropriate concentrations.
Caution: Biohazard! Contact with biological specimens
and materials can transmit potentially fatal disease.
Caution! Higher concentrations of sodium hypochlorite
and use of other cleaning solutions might damage the
cytometer.
