What to do if fluidics cart air flow is >100 psi on BD Measuring Instruments?
    • S
      Stephen LopezSep 6, 2025
If the fluidics cart air flow is greater than 100 psi on your BD Measuring Instruments, contact your BD Biosciences service engineer because the regulator is not adjusted properly.

How to fix stream not in center of aspirator in BD FACSAria?
    • A
      Andrew MeadowsDec 1, 2025
If the stream is not centered in the aspirator of your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to: * A difference in keyed stream position between nozzles. If you have just changed the nozzle, use an Allen wrench to loosen the screws on either side of the sort block. Adjust the angle of the sort block until the stream flows into the center of the waste aspirator, and then tighten the screws. * The nozzle being inserted improperly. Turn off the stream, remove the nozzle, and ensure that the O-ring is in place. Re-insert the nozzle at a slight downward angle to prevent loss or movement of the O-ring. Make sure the nozzle is completely seated against the back wall of the cuvette flow cell. * A clogged or damaged nozzle. Turn off the stream, remove the nozzle, and examine the nozzle t...

Why are there fluid leaks at bubble filter ports on BD FACSAria Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      Jennifer DickersonSep 18, 2025
If you notice fluid leaks at the bubble filter ports on your BD Measuring Instruments, replace the bubble filter. The cause may be a defective filter or a loose connection.

    Charles WarrenSep 16, 2025
Why does increasing threshold result in decreased Area signal on BD Measuring Instruments?
    • S
      Sarah FoxSep 16, 2025
If you observe increasing threshold results in decreased Area signal on your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to: * The window extension being too low. Slightly increase the window extension to maximize the Area signal. * The area scaling being too high. Decrease area scaling to move the Area measurement back on scale.

What to do if fluidics cart air flow is
    • S
      Stephanie HoustonSep 14, 2025
If the fluidics cart air flow is less than 70 psi on your BD Measuring Instruments, contact your BD Biosciences service engineer, as this indicates an air leak.

Why is there an unstable breakoff while Sweet Spot is engaged on BD FACSAria?
    • D
      Danielle HillSep 12, 2025
If you experience an unstable breakoff while Sweet Spot is engaged on your BD Measuring Instruments, allow the system to run until the breakoff stabilizes. This may be due to residual ethanol in the system.

What to do if sorting is paused because actual Drop 1 value is out of range on BD FACSAria?
    • G
      Gina JarvisSep 12, 2025
If the sorting is paused because the actual Drop 1 value is out of range on your BD Measuring Instruments, wait until the Sweet Spot adjusts the amplitude to achieve the Drop 1 target.

What to do if there is no fluid in line during system prime on BD FACSAria Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      Jonathan WalkerSep 9, 2025
If you observe no fluid in the line during system prime of your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to: * An air lock in the bubble or fluidics. Remove the filter for the corresponding fluid, install bypass tubing, and run Prime After Tank Refill. Repeat the priming procedure until you see fluid in the line. * The fluid line being detached. Verify the fluid line connections on the fluidics cart and on the cytometer. Push firmly on each line to ensure it is connected.

Why is stream control disabled on BD Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      John ShawSep 7, 2025
If the stream control is disabled or there's no stream when the Stream control is clicked on your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to: * The plenum not being full. Wait for the plenum to fill. * An air lock in the bubble or fluidics. Prime the system with the corresponding fluid. If the control is still disabled, remove the filter, install bypass tubing, and repeat the priming procedure until you see fluid in the line. When fluid is running through the line, remove the bypass tubing, install the filter, and repeat the priming procedure one last time.

What to do if there is a high electronic abort rate on BD FACSAria Measuring Instruments?
    • A
      Amanda WilsonAug 21, 2025
If you observe a high electronic abort rate (greater than 10% of the system event rate) on your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to several factors: * The window extension might be too high. Try decreasing the window extension. * The threshold channel might be set too low. Increase the threshold channel. * The event rate could be too high. Decrease the flow rate in the acquisition dashboard. * The sample may be aggregated. Filter the sample. * The sample might be too concentrated. Dilute the sample. * The window extension might be set incorrectly. Adjust the window extension, if needed.
