What to do for unexpected sort results in BD FACSAria Measuring Instruments?
    • M
      Matthew SimsSep 4, 2025
If you are getting unexpected sort results from your BD Measuring Instruments, create a new subset under the parent population consisting of NOT (child). Sort the child population into one tube and the NOT (child) population into another tube.

Why is there no fluorescent signal on BD FACSAria Measuring Instruments?
    • M
      Mary CarpenterSep 2, 2025
If you observe no fluorescent signal on your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to: * The current cytometer configuration differing from the optical setup. Verify that the cytometer optics match the current cytometer configuration. * The wrong filter being installed or the filter not being completely seated. Make sure the appropriate filter is installed for each fluorochrome and that the filters are pushed all the way in. * The laser delay being set incorrectly. Adjust the laser delay settings.

Why is there fanning around center stream or side streams in BD FACSAria?
    • A
      Anthony ClarkAug 31, 2025
If you observe fanning around the center stream or side streams on your BD Measuring Instruments, it might be because the nozzle is inserted improperly. Turn off the stream, remove the nozzle and ensure that the O-ring is in place. Re-insert the nozzle at a slight downward angle to prevent loss or movement of the O-ring, ensuring it's completely seated against the back wall of the cuvette flow cell.

Why is there a fluid leak under the fluidics cart of BD Measuring Instruments?
    • J
      Jake CooleyAug 27, 2025
If you see fluid leaking under the fluidics cart or below the side door of your BD Measuring Instruments, it may be due to condensation from the pressure relief valve. This is normal when water condenses from room air, especially in humid environments. To prevent slipping, regularly check and wipe up any accumulated water.

Why is there an erratic event rate on BD FACSAria?
    • A
      aaron57Aug 26, 2025
If you observe an erratic event rate on your BD Measuring Instruments, consider these potential causes and solutions: * Sample aggregates might be present. Filter the sample to remove aggregates. * The sample could be contaminated. Re-stain the sample, ensuring the tube is clean.

What to do if there is no stream when Stream control is clicked on BD FACSAria?
    • J
      jamesgarnerAug 25, 2025
If there's no stream when you click the Stream control on your BD Measuring Instruments, it could be due to several reasons: * There might be air in the bubble filter. Purge the bubble filter. * The sheath container might be low. Refill the sheath tank. Note that the stream shuts off automatically if the empty tank warning message is not dismissed after 15 minutes. * There might be air in the sheath line. Prime the sheath tank. * There might be air in the sheath filter. Purge the sheath filter. * The filter may be dry. Install bypass tubing in place of the filter for the affected fluid, then run Prime After Tank Refill. Re-install the filter and open the bleeder valve to purge the filter.
