SERGING WITH HEAVY DECORATIVE THREADS

• Attach the 2-thread adapter to the upper looper. Note: This is an optional accessory for the 700D.
• Following the instructions in the Owner’s manual thread the serger for a 2-thread flatlock stitch using
decorative thread in the lower looper. Set tension levers as directed.
• Adjust the stitch length to 4mm. You can slowly shorten the stitch length as you serge to fill in the
flatlock stitch.
• Sew the sample. If the tension on the decorative thread is too tight, slide the looper tension lever to a
lower number and try again. If after reducing the thread tension with the looper tension Lever, the
tension on the decorative thread is still too tight, remove the thread from the last thread guide and try
again.
• Experiment with the suggested threads, adjusting thread tension levers and by-passing thread guides
as needed.
• Press, trim, and mount the samples on the following page.
