Operation

l If the engine does not start during the first at-
tempt, repeat the starting process.

l As the engine warms up open the lever (Fig.
20) of the choke slowly.

l Set the throttle lever (Fig. 21) to position
"MIN".
l Run the engine warm for approx. 1 to 2 min-
utes in idle speed.

Operation of the vibratory plate can be started as
soon as the engine responds to short throttle com-
mands.

l If the engine stops again after approx. 3 to 5
seconds, close the choke again with the lever
(Fig. 22) and repeat the starting process.
Engine "drowned"
Note
i
When the choke is closed and the starter rope is
pulled several times, the engine draws in too much
fuel and will probably not start.
Remedy
l Close the fuel cock.
l Open the choke.
l Set the throttle lever to full speed position.
l Operate the recoil starter until the engine
starts.

If the engine does not start after 10 to 20 attempts
l Open the choke.
l Set the throttle lever to full speed position.
l pull off the spark plug socket.
l unscrew the spark plug.
l operate the starter several times.
l Dry the spark plug with a clean cloth or blow it
dry with compressed air. If necessary clean
with a wire brush.
l Screw the spark plug back in and plug the
spark plug socket back on.
l Repeat the starting procedure.
