6.19 Change the oil in the exciter
shaft housing
Caution
!
Park the machine on level ground.
For quality and quantity of oil refer to the ”ta-
ble of fuels and lubricants”.
Environment
Catch running out old oil, do not let it seep into
the ground and dispose off environmentally.
l Clean the area around breather and drain
plug.

l Tilt the machine to the side with the oil drain
plug and support it safely.
l Unscrew the bleeding screw (1) (Fig. 71).
l Unscrew oil drain plug (2), drain and catch run-
ning out old oil.

l Tilt the machine to the opposite side and se-
cure it properly.
l Fill in fresh engine oil through the drain open-
ing (Fig. 72).
l Park the machine on level ground.

l Check the oil level.
The oil level must reach the bottom edge of the
drain bore.
l Clean oil drain (2) (Fig. 73) and bleeding screw
(1) and assemble both screws with sealing
compound (e.g. BOMAG part-no. 00970016).
