1.1.1 Warning notices - Structure and meaning
Warning notices warn of dangers to the user or people
in the vicinity. Warning notices also indicate the con-
sequences of the hazard as well as preventive action.
Warning notices have the following structure:

ure to observe action and information given.

The key word indicates the likelihood of occurrence and
the severity of the hazard in the event of non-obser-

Observe all warning notices on products and ensure
they remain legible.
2. User instructions
2.1 Safety Instructions
DANGER - danger of electric shock due to
energized parts!
Improperly executed tasks on opened en-
ergized devices result in heart failure and
death.
¶ Only authorized and trained Customer
Service technicians are allowed to work on
opened devices.
¶ Comply with electrical engineering safety
rules (e.g. BGV A3 in Germany).
¶ Prior to start-up, perform safety checks in
accordance with national regulations (e.g.
VDE0701/0702 in Germany).
¶ Comply with all appropriate country regu-
lations.
2.2 Target group
Repair must only to be performed by qualified and
trained Customer Service employees from Robert
Bosch GmbH or organizations commissioned by Robert
Bosch GmbH. No warranty claims will be accepted if
devices have been opened or modified by non-autho-
rized persons.
2.3 Configuring operation
Operation of the DCU 220 can be configured. The func-
tions of the programs cited below are described in the
operating manual DCU 220 (1 689 989 221) and in the
User Handbook (1 689 989 235):
