3.8 AdBlue system functional tests
A KTS module and the ESI[tronic]2.0 software are
used for testing Bosch Denoxtronic3.1 / 5.x exhaust
gas treatment systems on the vehicle. The control unit
diagnosis can be used for various functional tests. The
number of functional tests varies between manufactur-
ers and vehicles.
Possible functional tests:
R Bleeding the system / AdBlue circuit leak test
R Draining the AdBlue circuit
R AdBlue dosing valve dry run
R Dosing quantity measurement
R Dosing quantity measurement (large quantity)
R Dosing quantity measurement (small quantity)
R Test of AdBlue dosing valve spray pattern test
Drain the system each time the AdBlue circuit is opened.
If this functional test is not available separately, perform
the functional test for the AdBlue circuit leak test. This
functional test includes a draining of the system at the
end of the test. This prevents AdBlue from leaking in an
uncontrolled manner.
Before changing the delivery module (Denoxtronic3.1
systems only) or the pump element, the tank must be
drained.
! For the preparatory installation steps on the vehicle
and conducting the functional tests, always follow
the vehicle- and system-specific information in the
ESI[tronic]2.0 instructions.
! Only perform installation work on the vehicle after
the ignition has been switched off and the exhaust
system has cooled down.
