3. Connect cables to frame and starter.
a. See Figure 7-37. First, connect positive cable to
starter using fastener with washer. Tighten fastener
to 60-85 in-lbs (7-10 Nm).
b. See Figure 7-36. Attach negative cable to frame.
Tighten to 48-72 in-lbs (5.4-8.1 Nm).
4. Apply light coat of petroleum jelly or corrosion-retardant
material to both battery terminals.
