92 4-1 Charging/Discharging Instructions
Warm tip
 Do not forcibly open the charging port cap when it is not unlocked.
 Do not forcibly insert the charging plug when the electric lock is locked.
 (Do not close the charging port cap when the charging port plug cap is fully
open.)
 After the vehicle is externally connected for charging, the cooling fan and A/C
compressor may automatically turn on for start battery heating or cooling,
which is normal!
Diagnosis of general charging faults

Confirm that the switch of the charger has
bounced, and pay attention to the plug length
and connection position of the charging
device.
The 12V start Fe
battery is over-
discharged
Connect 12V power supply from other
vehicles. When the vehicle starts, it will
charge the start Fe battery.
No electricity is found
in the standard single-
phase two-pole socket
with grounding (220V,
50Hz, 10A)
Confirm whether the power supply is
provided with overload protection. Use a
special standard single-phase two-pole
socket (220V, 50HZ, 10A) with grounding.
The vehicle or AC
charging connection
device is faulted
Stop charging and contact a BYD authorized
service provider after confirming that the
powertrain fault warning light on the
dashboard is on, or there is any prompt
message of charging system fault.
The temperature of
power battery is lower
Allow the power battery to be heated or
cooled before charging.
or higher than a
certain value
Place the vehicle in an environment with
suitable temperature and recharge it when its
temperature becomes normal.
The power battery is
fully charged
When the power battery is fully charged, it
will automatically stop charging.

Charging cable is not

Confirm that the cable of charging connection
device is not loosely connected.
The button of charging
connection device is
pressed down
The charging equipment will stop charging if
the button of charging connection device is
pressed down. Re-connect the charging
connection device to start charging.
