Even in the , , and modes, E-TTL autoflash is as easy as normal
picture-taking without flash.

When you press the shutter button halfway, the shutter speed and
aperture are set by the camera as with normal picture-taking without flash.
(2)
When you press the shutter button completely, preflash evaluative
metering based on the aperture set in (1) is used for the E-TTL
autoflash exposure.
(3)
The background exposure is set by the shutter speed and aperture
combination.
