What to do if Canon Security Camera VB Initial Setting Tool does not operate?
    • S
      Summer GutierrezSep 23, 2025
If the VB Initial Setting Tool isn't working, check if the LAN cable is correctly connected, and try turning the camera off and on again. Note that the camera stops responding to the VB Initialization Tool 20 minutes after being turned on. Also, ensure that the camera and the PC running the tool are on the same LAN segment. The tool may not function with [Windows Firewall] enabled. Finally, check if you're using an older version of the VB Initial Setting Tool.

    Gary BakerAug 27, 2025
Why is Canon Software Storage Server disk space usage so high?
    • J
      James MartinAug 27, 2025
To address the issue of the Canon Software Storage Server disk space usage being higher than expected, especially if free disk space is low, consider the following: if the video quality setting of the camera is high, the amount of data per frame is large. If you are using anti-virus software, the software records communication between the Storage Servers and the cameras and the size of that log may reach several gigabytes. Change the anti-virus software settings to exclude the Storage Servers from the target list.

What to do if Canon Software Viewer slows down?
    • K
      Kyle DownsAug 27, 2025
The Canon Software Viewer's performance depends on your CPU and graphics card. If the Viewer slows down, reduce the number of cameras or decrease the live frame rate. High video quality or resolution settings can also cause slowdowns; try adjusting these settings on the camera.
