Startingtheengine–Atlowtemperatureswith“gridheater”(Optional)
Thisstartingsystemactivateswhentheambienttemper-
atureislowerthan5°C41°F.
NOTE:Inverycoldstartingconditions(startingbelow
-15°C(5°F))theenginecontrollerwilllimittheengine
speedtoamaximumof1200RPMtopreventdamageto
theengine.Ifthethrottlesettingisatlowidleuponstart,
theenginewillrunat950RPMunlessoverriddenbythe
clustersetting.Youcanadjusttheenginespeedbetween
950-1200RPMduringthistime.At-20°C(-4°F),this
maytakeupto100s.
1.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOnpositionandcheckthe
instrumentcluster.
2.Waitforthecoldstartindicatorlight(1)toturnoffbe-
foreturningthekeyswitchtoOnposition.
3.TurnthekeyswitchtoOnuntiltheenginestarts,then
releasethekey.
4.Iftheenginefailstostartafteramaximumof30sof
cranking,allowstartertocoolfortwominutesbefore
restarting.
5.Donotoperatethestarterformorethan30s.
