Hydraulicoilisnotwater-soluble;thiscancausethefor-
mationofcondensationwaterinthehydraulicoiltank.
Therefore,periodicallydraincondensationwater,espe-
ciallyafterthemachinehasbeenleftunusedforalong
time.
Disposeofthedrainedliquidasforexhaustoil.
VISCOSITY
Asageneralrule,multigradeoilsmustbeused.Inclosed
roomsheatedtotemperatures>5°C(41°F),itisalso
possibletousesingle-gradeoils.Astheviscosityoflubri-
catingoilsvariesaccordingtothetemperature,thetem-
peratureoftheplacewheretheenginewillbeusedisde-
cisiveforchoosingtheoilviscositygrade(SAEgrade).
Accordingtothediagramreportedheretotheside,itis
possibletochoosethenecessaryoilviscosityforeach
temperatureinordertoguaranteeanoptimumoperation
oftheengine.
Ifacertainoiltypeisusedtotemperatureslowerthan
thoseindicatedinthediagram,itcouldnegativelyaffect
thestartingcapacityoftheengine,butwithoutdamaging
theengineitself.
Theuseofacertaintypeofoilattemperaturesabove
thoseindicatedinthediagrammustbelimitedasmuchas
possible,inordertominimizethepossibleweardamage
causedtotheengine.
Syntheticoilsprovideabetterperformancebecauseof
theirbetterstabilityasregardstemperatureandoxidation.
