Fuelsystemairbleed
Itisnecessarytobleedthefuelsystemwhen:
•
Thetankhasbeencompletelyemptied.
•
Thefuelpre-lterhasbeenreplaced.
•
Thefuellterhasbeenreplaced.
•
Partsofthefuelsystemhavebeenremovedforservic-
ingorrepairwork.
•
Themachinehasbeeninstorageforafairlylongperiod.
1.Switchthevalvesothatthefuellinecanbeusedfor
airbleeding.

2.Loosentheairbleedscrew(1).
3.Turntheignitionkeytothe“On”position.Donotleave
theignitionkeyinthe“On”positionformorethanve
minutesunlessbleedinghasbeenperformed.Itmay
damagethefuelsupplypump.
4.Turntheprimingpumppiston(2)totheleftinorderto
releasethespring.
5.Movethehandleoftheprimingpump(2)upanddown
untilfuelcontainingnoairbubblesowsoutoftheair
bleedscrew(1).
6.Assoonasthefuelowsout,tightentheairbleed
screw(1)andtightentheprimingpumppiston(2).
7.Completelywipeoffanyspiltfuel.Starttheengineand
checkforpossibleleakage.Completelywipeoffany
spiltfuel.Itcouldcauseare.
