Thru-Hull Fittings and Seacocks (Continued)
The photo below shows a typical seacock and thru hull installation. The seacock is shown in the OFF
position. Turning the seacock handle counterclockwise will OPEN a system to allow seawater IN. The
two systems requiring a seacock on these boat models are the generator cooling and air conditioning
cooling. Without these options there are no seacocks. It will also allow materials from the waste tank
through the macerator pump and OUT into the sea through the bottom of the boat.
The sensor that is shown in the photo below will provide information about the boat’s speed and the
depth of the water below the bottom of the boat.
