adjustment

Loosen cable
bracket

movement
of
cable bracket.
Gently push
or
pull cable assembly, in
trans-
mission housing, to
estimate
or
mea
sure
"free
piny"
of
cable housing.
NOTE:
Total
"fre
e
play"
of
cable
assembly
will
be
approximately
%2
inch.
After
determining
total
backlash
or
"f
ree
play"
of
control cable,
po
sit
ion
the
cont
rol cable
bracket
80
that
the
bracket
location
"splits"
the
totul backlush or
"free
pla
y"
into
two
equul
parts;
then
tighten
bra
cket
cap
sc
rew.
NOTE:
To
test
if
equal amount
of
backlash
ha.s
been obtained, alternately 1Jush
in
R-1'everse
and
L-low

buttons. W

Removal
of
Push
Button Control Unit
Remove
the
three
bezel
retaining
sc
re
ws (one
screw is located on
underside
of
unit
receiver)
and
remove bezel
and
push
buttons.
Remove
the
two
hex
nuts
(and
lockwas
her
s)
holding push bu
tton
control
unit
to ins
trument
panel
casting.
Pull push
button
contr
ol
unit
from
rear
of
in-
stru
ment
panel;
down
and
toward
front
of
car.
Remove
and
install
control cable assembly
as
outlined
under
"Replacing
Cont
rol Cable As-
se
mbly."
In
sta
ll
by
re
ver
sing
procedures
outlined
for
removal.
NOTE:
Bezel should be cente1"ed on
button.~
to
insure their /t'ee return.
When replacing
light
socket assembly, w

st be placed over
top
of
upper
stud
and
be-
tween control
unit

mounting
plate
