for
proper wire
colors
and
their
respective terminals.
HEATER BODY
Removal
Di
sconnect
the
two
wires
from
the
terminals
at
the
front
end of
the
heater assembly. Remove
the
two screws from
the
front
end of the
heater
case
upper
half
and
the
one screw
near
the
dash
panel.
Lift
the
front end of the case up
and
dis-
connect
the
spark
plug wire from
the
spark
plug terminal. Remove
spark
plug wire and
the
grommet
from
the
heater
lower case half.
With the
heater
case
upper
half
held up
in
a
raised
po
sition disconnect
the
fuel inlet line
fitting
at
the
burner
and
exchanger assembly.
Remove
the
fuel line
and
grommet
from
the
heater
case lower half.
Disconnect
the
heater
blow
er
hose with
gro
m_
met
from
the
burner
and
exchanger assembly.
Remove the
exhaust
pipe to
heater
clamp
at
-
taching
screw rrom
the
und
er
side of the
heater
lower case
and
disengage
the
exhaust
pipe. Re-
move
the
rubber
adaptor
connecting the
heater
housing
(eng
ine side) to
the
heater
case lower
half. Remove
the
self-tapping screws securing
the
heater
assembly to
the
dash panel. Remove
the
heater
assembly
and
the
dash panel mount-
ing gasket.
Installation
NOTE:
Befm'e installing heater body,
refer
to
"CLEANING
AND
INS
P
ECTION."
If
heater
to dash panel
gasket
is damaged, in-
stall a new
gasket
holding
it
in place with ce-
ment
.
Po

case lower half on
the
dash panel, aligning
the
heater
flange with
the
four
screws
protruding
through
the
dash panel.
In
sta
ll
the
self-tapping metal screws in
the
holes provided. Reinstall
the
ventilator blower
motor
grou
nd
wi
re
. An
external
tooth lock
washer
must
be in
sta
ll
ed between
the
head of
the
screw
and
the
ground wire
term
ina
l.
Tight-
en all screws securely.
Connect
the
exhaust
pipe to
the
heat
ex-
changer
outlet tube. Install
exhaust
pipe clamp
and
screw. Tighten screw securely.
In
se
rt
the
heater
burner
blower hose on
the
bu
rn
er
and
exchanger assembly opening. Tnstall
the
spark
plug cable on
spark
plug
termina
l,
making
cer-

tain
that
the
cable
grommet
is properly posi-
tioned in the slot of
the
case lower half. Position
fuel line and
grommet
in
heater
case low
er
half
and
connect fuel l
in
e.
Tighten
fitting securely.
Position
heater
case
upper
half and connect
the
overheat
switch wires
(the
black wire to
the
fuel valve
co
il cover
terminal
and
thc
white wire
to
the
coil
terminal).
Install
the
heater
case
upper
half and tighten
the
three
attaching
screws securely.
Ins
tall rubber
adaptor
between
ventilator blower housing and
healer
case. Con-
nect
the
two
heater
wires to
the
termina
ls
lo-
cated on the
front
end of
the
heater
upper case.

Figure 3,
for
proper
wires and terminals.
BURNER
AND
EXCHANGER ASSEMBLY
Removal
Disconnect
the
two wires
from
the
terminals
at
the
front
end of the
heater
assembly. Remove
the
two screws
from
the
front
end of
the
heater
~
,
case upper half
and
the
one screw
near
the
da~h
panel. Raise
the
front
end of
the
case and dis-
connect
the
spark plug wi
re
from
the
spark
plug
terminal. Remo
ve
the
two wires from
the
fuel
valve coil
term
inals
and
lift
off the case
upper
half. Remove
spark
plug wire
and
the grommet
from the
heater
case lower half.
Disconnect
the
fuel inlet line fitting
at
the
burner
and
exchanger
assembly. Remove
the
fuel line
and
grommet from
the
heater
case
lower half.
Di
sconnect
the
heater
blower hose
with grommet
from
the
burner
and exchanger
as
sembly.
Remove the clamp screw and
tinner
m
an
fas-
tener
attaching
burner
and
exchanger assembly
to
the
heat
exchanger and remove clamp.
Lift
out
the
burner
and exchanger assembly
from
the
case lower half.
Disassembly
Remove
gasket
from louver plate and
mix~r
as-
sembly.
LooRen
the
spar
k plug guide screw
lo-
cated on
the
side
of
the
burner
and
exchanger
housing. Remove the two screws and
lo
ckwash-
ers securing
the
spark
plug
cap
to the
burner
and
exchanger
housing. Carefully lift
out
spark
plug, cap, and
the
two gaskets.
Remove fuel valve coil cover screw and cover.
Lift
out coil nnd
the
cork
retainer
gasket. Re-
move the fuel line inlet fitting

the
burner
