4. BASIC OPERATIONS
Note:
• Be sure to read this chapter referring to the chapter “3. CONTROLS” (page 5).
Turning On and Off the Power
CAUTION
Lower the volume level before powering the
source unit off. The source unit stores the
last volume setting. If the source unit is
powered off with the volume up, when the
source unit is powered back on, the sudden
loud volume may harm your hearing and/or
damage the source unit.
1. Press the [POWER] button. The unit
automatically memorizes its last operation
mode and will automatically switch to display
that mode.
2. To turn off the power, press and hold the
[POWER] button for more than 1 second.
Adjusting the Volume
1. Turn the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the
volume.
• The volume level indicated in the display is
in a range from 0 (min.) to 33 (max.).
Turning the Monitor OFF
You can turn off the monitor screen, and change
it to a black screen.
1. Press the [POWER] button.
The monitor screen is turned off.
Turning the monitor on
Press any buttons or turn the [UP/DOWN] knob.
The monitor screen is turn on.
Turning the Mute ON or OFF
Use this function to turn off the sound
immediately (except in DVD/DivX mode).
1. Press the [ ] button. The sound turns off
and “ ” appears on the display.
2. Press the [ ] button again to cancel the
mute mode.
WARNING
When the front panel is open, no sound is
produced, and source unit controls and
remote control unit operations are
disabled. Always shut the front panel after
changing the disc.
EXPOSING THE UNIT TO WATER WITH THE
FRONT PANEL OPEN WILL CAUSE
DAMAGE OR UNIT MALFUNCTION!
