(2)SnowRemovalProcedure
NOTE:
Itisrecommendedtoremovesnowfromaparkedaircraftregularly.Thiswillmakesure
thatalargequantityofsnowwillnotcollectandpossiblyfreezeontheaircraftsurface.
NOTE:
Donotpushthesnowintothecavitiesorholesinthecontrolsurfaceduringthesnow
removal.
NOTE:
Makesurethaticeand/orsnowisnotpushedintotheightcontrolareaduringiceand
snowremoval.
(a)Theuseofthefollowingtoolstodeicinglargequantityofsnowfromaircraftsurfaces,rather
thanusingdeicing/anti-icinguids,canreducecostsandreduceenvironmentalimpact:
1)Usehangar
2)Usearubberspatula/broom
3)Useabladehairdryerandmop
4)Highpressureair
NOTE:
Theairishotwhenleavingthenozzle,afterseveralfeetbecomesthesame
asambienttemperature.
(b)Usemechanicalmeantoremovethesnowonthewingsurface,fuselagesurface,horizon-
talstabilizersurface.
(3)One-StepDeicing/Anti-IcingProcedure
(a)Whenyouusetheheateddeicinguiddiluenttoremovetheicefromtheaircraftsurfaces,
uidresiduesontheaircraftsurfacescangivelimitedprotection.
(b)Accordingthedesiredholdingtime,outsideairtemperatureandthemeteorologicalcondi-
tiontoselectproperdeicinguids.
(c)TheuidmixedwiththewatercanbeTypeI,TypeII,orTypeIVdeicing/anti-icinguid.
TheholdovertimewillbelongerwiththeTypeIIandTypeIVdeicing/anti-icinguids.Use
thedatathatfollowtoconrmtheconcentrationofeachuidinthemixture.
(4)Two-StepDeicing/Anti-IcingProcedure
(a)Itconsistsoftwodifferentsteps:
1)Stepone:Usetheheateddeicinguidtocompletethedeicingwork.Thedeicinguid
shouldbecorrectlyselectedaccordingtotheoutsideairtemperature.
2)Steptwo:Usetheanti-icinguidtocompletethedeicingwork.Theanti-icinguid
shouldbecorrectlyselectedaccordingtothedesiredholdingtime,outsideairtem-
peratureandthemeteorological.
(b)Thetwo-stepdeicing/anti-icingprocedureisusuallyusedwhentheprecipitationconditions
arecontinuous.
(c)Thesecondstepisgenerallycarriedoutwithin3minutesassoonaspossible.Ifnecessary,
itshallbeappliedonebyone.Iftheaircraftcriticalpartfreezesagain,itshallrepeatthe
rststep.
