(6)Deicing/Anti-icingcongurationrequirements
(a)Beforeyoudothedeicing/anti-icingoperation,makesurethatthecontrolsurfacesarein
thedeicing/anti-icingconguration:
1)Slats,aps,spoilersandenginethrustreverserareretracted.
2)Ailerons,rudderandelevatorareinneutralpositions.
(7)Deicing/Anti-icingcommunicationProcedure
(a)Beforethede-icing,makesuretheaircraftisindeicing/anti-icingconguration.
(b)Afterthede-icing,thefollowinginformationmustbeprovidedtothecrew:
1)Thestartandtheendtime.
2)Typeofthedeicingandanti-icingliquid.
(8)Theorderofdeicingisveryimportant.Firstisthefuselage,secondisthewingsurface,thirdis
thetailsurface.
(9)Usethefollowingguidelinestospraythedeicinguid:
NOTE:
Determinesprayingpressureinaccordancewiththestandarddeicing/anti-icingrequire-
mentoftheairport.
NOTE:
Thedirectionofthedeicingvehicleisvehicletothefuselage.
(a)Fuselage:Spraydeicinguidsfromthetopcenterlineoffuselageandthenoutward.Ice
fromthenosetotheenginethrustreversermustberemovedtopreventtheice/snowfrom
fallingandgettingintotheengines.
NOTE:
Whilesprayingdeicinguidtothefuselage,takecarenottospraydeicinguidinto
theAPUinletandcoolingairraminlet.
NOTE:
Donotspraydirectlytopassengerwindowsandpilotwindows.
(b)Spraydeicinguidfromtiptotherootarea,andfromthehighestpointofthecamberto
thelowestpoint.
NOTE:
Payattentiontoloweringthehotairgunfromthewingsrootto1/3ofthewingsto
preventlargeamountofdeicinguidfromsplashingintotheengineairintake.
(c)Winglet:Spraythedeicinguidalongtheairowdirection.Keepthesprayingpressureas
lowaspossible.
(d)Verticalstabilizer:Spraydeicinguidfromtoptothebottom.
NOTE:
Spraydeicinguidfromthesideoftheverticaltailleadingedge.Keepthespraying
linenotmorethan45°totheaircraftcenterline.Preventthedeicinguidfrom
enteringtheAPUinletdoor,coolingairraminletandramairinlet.
