NOTE:
Whiledoingde-cing/anti-icingoperationfortheverticalstabilizer,trytopreventthe
anti-icinguidfromowingintothecoolingventofaftequipmentcompartmentas
possible.
(e)Spraydeicinguidfromtoptothebottom.
(f)Landinggearandwheelwell:Itisrecommendedtoremovetheicemanuallyorbyheat.
Donotspraydeicinguidorwater.
NOTE:
Installsuitablecoversforanti-icingonthewheelsandbrakeswhenitispermitted.
(g)Engine:Donotdirectlyusethedeicinguidtoremovetheicefromtheengine.Theme-
chanicalmethod(broomsorbrushes)canbeusedtoremovethesnowcollectedatthe
engineinlet.Hotairorothermethodsrecommendedbytheenginemanufacturercanbe
usedtoremoveallfrozenmaterialsonthelowersurfaceoftheinletandonthefanblades.
(h)Flaps/slats:Ifyouconsiderthattherearecontaminationsintheapsorslats,itmustput
downtheaps/slatstocheckthearea.
(10)T akespecialcarenottoletthehangingbasketandoperatorpointthesprayofdeicing/anti-icing
uidsdirectlyintotheengine,APUinlet,coolingairraminlet,ramairinlet,APUexhaustport,
exhaustport,enginethrustreverser,angleofattacksensor,pitot-staticprobe,TATsensor,ice
detector,exhaust/drainport,wheelandbrake,etc.
(11)Afterthelastightofthedaywhendeicingprocedurehadbeenperformed,itisnecessaryto
removetheremainingde-icinguidfromtheAPUcompartment.
(12)Makesurethemaximumpressureofthesprayeddeicinguiddoesnotexceedthelimit.Donot
pointacontinuousowofuiddirectlyattheaircraftsurfaces.
(13)Spraythesameamountofde-icinguidtotherightandtheleftsideoftheaircraft(suchasthe
leftwingandrightwing)andgetthemfullycoveredwiththeuidforthebestde-icingeffect.
(14)Afterade-icingprocedureiscompleted,doade-icingprocedureagainbeforedoingananti-icing
procedureforsubsequentightsoraircraftmaintenancewithinalongperiodoftime.
NOTE:
Aftertheholdovertimeisexceeded,theaircraftwillfreezeagain.
C.Finalprocedure
(1)Makesurethattheworkareaisclean.Removealltools,equipmentandunwantedmaterials
fromtheworkarea.
