PARKING BRAKE LEVER
Toset the parkingbrake: Fullydepressthe brakepedal.Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintothe parkingbrakeposition.Releasethe brake
pedaltoallowtheparkingbraketo engage.
Torelease theparkingbrake: Depressthe brakepedalandthe park-
ingbrakeleverwillmoveoutofthe parkingbrakepositionon itsown.
Theparkingbrakewillthenbereleased.Releasethebrakepedal.
NOTE:The parkingbrakemustbe setif theoperatorleavesthe seat
withtheenginerunningor the enginewill automaticallyshutoff.
THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL LEVER
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris
locatedonthe right sideofthe trac-
tor'sdashpanel.This levercontrols
thespeedof theengineand when
pushedall thewayforward,the
chokecontrolalso.Whensetin
a givenposition,thethrottlewill
maintaina uniformenginespeed.
IMPORTANT: Whenoperating
thetractorwiththe cuttingdeck
engaged,thethrottle/chokecontrol
levermustalwaysbe inthe FAST
(rabbit)position.
IGNITION SWITCH
Thekeyswitchmoduleisusedto
startand stopthe engine.Insert
keyintothe keyswitchmodule
andturnclockwiseto theSTART
position.Releasethe keyintothe
normalmowingpositiononceen-
ginehasstarted.Theheadlights
willbeactivatedautomatically.
Tostopthe engine,turnthe
ignitionkeycounterclockwiseto
theSTOPposition.

IMPORTANT:Priorto operatingthetractor,refertoboththe"Safety
InterlockSystem"and"StartingTheEngine"laterinthissectionofthis
manualfordetailedinstructionsregardingthe IgnitionSwitchModule.
Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO
(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutralposition,setpark-
ingbrake,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
Theseatadjustmentleveris locatedbelowthefront/leftof the seat.The
leverallowsforadjustmentof theforeandaft positionofthe seat.Refer
totheAssemblysectionof themanual formoredetailedinstructionsfor
adjustingtheseatposition.
AUTO-DRIVE PEDAL
Thedrivepedalislocatedonthe rightside ofthe tractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depressthe drivepedalforwardandthe tractorwill
moveinthe directionthatthe shiftleveris engagedin.Tocausethe
tractorto travelforward,whileat acompletestop,movetheshift lever
intothe Forwardposition.Graduallysteponthe drivepedalandthe
tractorwill beginto moveforward.Tomovein Reverse,followthe same
procedureonlymovetheshiftleverintothereverseposition.
Thegroundspeediscontrolledwiththedrivepedal.Thefurther
forwardthatthe pedalis pivoted,thefasterthe tractorwill travel.
Thepedalwill returnto its originalpositionwhenit'snotdepressed.
Referto theOperationsectionofthismanualfordetailedinstructions
regardingthedrive pedal.
IMPORTANT= Alwayssetthe parkingbrakewhenleavingthe tractor
unattended.
DECK LIFT LEVER
Foundonyour tractor'srightfender,thedeckliftleverisused
tochangetheheightofthe cuttingdeck.Touse,movethe
levertothe left,thenplaceinthe notchbestsuitedfor your
application.
PTO (BLADE ENGAGE) LEVER
Foundonthe tractor'srightfender,the PTO(bladeengage)
leverisusedtoengagepowertothe cuttingdeckorother
(separatelyavailable)attachments.Tooperate,movethe
leverall thewayforward.Movingthe leverallthe way
rearwardintothe PTOOFFpositiondisengagespowerto the
cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE=ThePTO(bladeengage)levermustbe inthe
disengaged(PTOOFF)positionwhenstartingtheengine.
CUP HOLDER
Thetractor'scupholderis locatedon thefenderto theleft of
theseat.
SHIFT LEVER
Theshift leveris locatedontheleft
sideof thefenderand hasthree
positions,FORWARD,NEUTRAL
and REVERSE.The brakepedal
mustbedepressedandthe tractor
mustnotbe in motionwhenthe
movingshiftlever.
IMPORTANT: Neverforcethe
shiftlever.Doingsomayresultin
seriousdamagetothe tractor's
transmission.

Thebrakepedalis locatedon the leftside of the lawntractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depressthe brakepedalto engagethediscbrakeand
bringthetractorto a completestop.
