5. Turntheignitionkeyclockwiseto theSTARTposition.Afterthe
enginestarts,releasethe key.It will returntothe ON(orNormal
Mowing)position.
DoNOTholdthe keyinthe STARTpositionforlongerthanten
secondsata time.Doingso maycausedamageto yourengine's
electricstarter.
6. Aftertheenginestarts,deactivatethechokecontroland placethe
throttlecontrolinthe FASTposition.
NOTE: DoNOTleavethechokecontrolonwhileoperatingthetractor.
Doingso willresultina "rich"fuelmixtureandcausethe engineto run
poorly.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
If youstrikea foreignobject,stopthe engine,disconnectthe spark
plugwire(s)andgroundagainstthe engine.Thoroughlyinspectthe
machineforanydamage.Repairthedamagebeforerestartingand
operating
1. Ifthe bladesareengaged,placethePTO(BladeEngage)leverin
thedisengaged(OFF)position.
2. Turntheignitionkeycounterclockwiseto the STOPposition.
3. Removethe keyfromtheignitionswitchto preventunintended
starting.
DRIVING THE TRACTOR
Avoidsuddenstarts,excessivespeedand suddenstops.
Donot leavetheseatof thetractorwithoutfirstplacingthePTO
(BladeEngage)leverin the disengaged(OFF)position,depressing
thebrakepedalandengagingthe parkingbrake.If leavingthe tractor
unattended,alsoturntheignitionkeyoff andremovethe key.
Alwayslookdownandbehindbeforeandwhile backingupto avoida
back-overaccident.
1. Depressthebrakepedalto releasetheparkingbrakeandthen let
thepedalup.
2. Movethethrottleleverintothe FAST(rabbit)position.
3. PlacetheshiftleverineithertheFORWARDor REVERSE
position.
IMPORTANT: DoNOTuse theshiftleverto changethedirection
oftravelwhenthe tractoris in motion.Alwaysusethebrakepedalto
bringthe tractorto acompletestopbeforeshifting.
4. Graduallybeginto applypressureto the drivepedal.Thefurther
downthe pedalispushed,thefasterthe tractorwilltravelinthe
desireddirectionbasedon the positionofthe shift lever.
5. Thelawntractoris broughtto a stopbyreleasingthedrivepedal
andthen depressingthe brakepedal.
Beforeleavingtheoperator'spositionfor anyreason,disengagethe
blades,placethe shiftleverinneutral,engagethe parkingbrake,
shutengineoff andremovethe key.
Whenstoppingthetractorfor anyreasonwhileon agrasssurface,
always:
1. Placetheshift leverinneutral,
2. Engagethe parkingbrake,
3. Shutengineoffand removethe key.Doingsowill minimizethe
possibilityofhavingyour lawn"browned"byhot exhaustfrom
yourtractor'srunningengine.
