6. Whilesittinginthe operator'spositiononthe tractor,startthe
engineandplacethethrottleleverinthe FAST(rabbit)position.
7. Movethetractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intotheON position.
8. Remaininthe operator'spositionwiththecuttingdeckengaged
fora minimumof two minutes,allowingtheundersideof the
cuttingdeckto thoroughlyrinse.
9. Movethetractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intotheOFFposition.
10. Turnthe ignitionkeytothe STOPpositiontoturnthetractor's
engineoff.
11. Turnthe wateroff anddetachthe hosecouplerfromthewater
portonyourdeck'ssurface.
12. Repeatsteps4through11on the oppositeside of the cutting
deck.
Aftercleaningyourdeck,returnto the operator'spositionandengage
thePTO.Keepthe cuttingdeckrunningfor a minimumof twominutes,
allowingtheundersideof thecuttingdeckto thoroughlydry.
ADJUSTMENTS
Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhilethe engineis running,
exceptwherespecifiedin the operator'smanual.
Leveling the Deck
NOTE: Checkthetractor'stirepressurebeforeperforminganydeck
levelingadjustments.RefertoTiresinthe Servicesectionof this
manualformoreinformationregardingtire pressure.
Front To Rear
Thefrontof thecuttingdeckis supportedbya stabilizerbarthatcan
beadjustedto levelthedeckfromfrontto rear.Thefrontof the deck
shouldbe between_A-inchand3A-inchlowerthanthe rearofthedeck.
Adjustif necessaryasfollows:
1. Withthe tractorparkedona firm, levelsurface,placethe lever
forliftingthe platformonthe secondtothe topnotch(second
highestposition)and rotatethebladeascloseas possibleto the
dischargechannelthatis parallelto the tractor.
2. Measurethedistancefromthe frontof thebladetip tothe ground
andthe rearof the bladetip to theground.Thefirst measure-
menttakenshouldbe between_A"and3A"lessthanthesecond
measurement.Determinethe approximatedistancenecessaryfor
properadjustmentandproceed,if necessary,tothe nextstep.
3. Locatethe flangelocknut onthefrontsideofthe stabilizer
bracket.SeeFig.15.
Tightenthe flangelocknut toraisethefrontof the deck;
Loosentheflangelock nutto lowerthe frontof thedeck.

Ifthecuttingdeckappearsto be mowingunevenly,a sideto side
adjustmentcanbeperformed.Adjustif necessaryas follows:
1. Withthe tractorparkedona firm, levelsurface,placethe decklift
leverin the secondfromthetop notch(secondhighestposition)
and rotatebothbladessothat theyare perpendicularwiththe
tractor.
2. Measurethedistancefromthe outsideofthe left bladetip to the
groundandthe distancefromtheoutsideof therightbladetip to
theground.Bothmeasurementstakenshouldbeequal.Ifthey're
not, proceedto thenextstep.
3. Loosen,but do NOTremove,the hexcap screwonthe leftdeck
hangerbracket.SeeFig. 16.
4. Balancethedeckby usinga wrenchtoturn theadjustmentgear
(foundimmediatelybehindthehexcapscrewjust loosened)
clockwise/uporcounterclockwise/down.Thedeckis properly
balancedwhenbothbladetipmeasurementstakenearlierare
equal.
