IMPORTANT: TheV-beltfoundon yourtractoris speciallydesigned
toengageanddisengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
bedangerousby notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworking
machine,useidenticalequipmentbeltsas listedin the partspagesof
thisOperator'sManual.
Tochangeor replacethe deckbeltonyourtractor,proceedasfollows:
1. Removethedeckas instructedearlierinthis section.
2. Removethe beltcoversfromthe spindlepulleysby removingthe
hexscrewsthatfastenthecoverstothedeck.SeeFig.23.
3. It mayalsobenecessaryto loosenthehex nuton the leftdeck
idlerpulleyto getthe beltoffthe pulleyandaroundthe beltguard.
4. Carefullyremovethedeckbeltfromaroundthetwospindle
pulleysandthetwo deckidlerpulleys,SeeFig,23,
5. Toplacethenewbelt,beginby routingthe belt aroundthetwo
outerspindlepulleysas shownin Fig,23,
6. Thenroutethebeltaroundthe twodeckidlerpulleysasshownin
Fig.23,
7. Retightenthebelt keeperrodloosenedearlier.
8. Remountthebeltguardsremovedearlier,
9. Re-installthedeck, makingsurethe beltremainsroutedaround
thepulleysas instructed.Thecompletebeltroutingis shownin
Fig,23.
10. Pullthe rightsideofthe belt,and placethe narrowVside of the
beltintothePTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthebeltandpulleytogether,rotatethepulleytothe
left.Continueholdingandrotatingthepulleyand beltuntilthe belt
isfullyrolledintothePTOpulley.
PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Neverattemptto adjustthebrakeswhiletheengineisrunning.Always
disengagePTO(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutral
position,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
Ifthetractordoesnot cometo a completestopwhenthe clutch-brake
pedalis completelydepressed,or if the tractor'srearwheelscan roll
withtheparkingbrakeapplied,the brakeis inneedof adjustment.
