This appendix provides some tips and strategies for resolving some of
the problems you might encounter with your modem either during
installation or normal use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Problem The modem fails to accept commands to dial or to
answer a call.
Cause Improper telephone line connection.
Solution The telephone cable must be attached to the wall outlet.
The RS232 cable must be connected to the modem and
computer properly.
Also, check that all devices are turned on.
Problem Interference on the telephone line connected to the
modem.
Cause May be due to interference from a power source,
monitor, printer, or other computer cables.
Solution Move the telephone line away from any power source,
monitor, printer, and other computer cables.
