The FAA recommends that children up to 40
pounds (18 kg) use a certified, harnessed child
seat while travelling on an airplane. The Aton M
is certified for airplane use only without the base.
DO NOT use the Base on an airplane.
Installing the Carrier in an Airplane
Install your Infant Carrier in a window seat to avoid
blocking the aisle. DO NOT install in an aircraft seat
that is equipped with an inflatable seat belt.
Position Infant Carrier rear facing in aircraft seat with
the foot end firmly against the back of the aircraft
seat. Place child in carrier, see p.24-25
Route lap belt under both Belt Guides. BUCKLE THE
BELT.
Push Infant Carrier firmly into aircraft seat while
removing slack from the lap belt.
Check the recline angle. Adjust the seat angle until
the red Level Line on the Infant Carrier is level with
the floor of the aircraft. A tightly rolled airline blanket
may be placed under the Infant Carrier to adjust the
angle. See page 67.
