Cracked Inner Race
Race c racked d ue to i mproper fi t, c ocking or
poor bearing seat.
Replace all parts and housings, check seals and
bearings and replace if leaking.
Smears
Smearing of me tal due to s lippage c aused b y
poor f itting, lub rication, o verheating, o verloads
or handling damage.
Replace b earings, c lean r elated par ts an d
check for proper fit and lubrication.
Replace shaft if damaged.
Frettage
Corrosion set up by small relative movement of
parts with no lubrication.
Replace bearing. Clean all related parts. Check
seals and check for proper lubrication.
