4.4 Facility Setting Switch (cooling at low outdoor
temperature)
Outline This function is limited to facilities where the target of air conditioning is equipment Never use it in a
residence or office occupied by people.
Detail You can expand the cooling operation range from –10°C (14°F: normal operation) to –15°C
(5°F: cooling at low outdoor temperature setting) by turning on the switch (SW4-B) on the
outdoor unit PCB.
When the target fan speed determined by the control to maintain pressure difference remains under
150 ~ 250 rpm (depending on the model) for about 30 seconds, the fan is turned off to maintain the
pressure difference. When the pressure difference returns to high again, the fan starts to rotate again.
Caution 1. If the outdoor unit is installed where the outdoor heat exchanger of the unit is exposed to direct
wind, provide a windbreak wall.
2. Intermittent noises may be produced by the indoor unit due to the outdoor fan turning on and off
when using facility settings.
3. Do not place humidifiers or other items which might raise the humidity in rooms where facility
settings are being used.
A humidifier might cause dew jumping from the indoor unit outlet vent.
4. Use the indoor unit at the highest level of airflow rate.
