Example 2 A flow meter yields 1 pulse for each 10 l of flow. The maximum flow is 100 l/s =
360 m
3
/h. Scaling and Interval are set as follows:
• Scaling = 0.01 m
3
• Interval = 60 s.
Example 3 A flow meter yields 1 pulse for each 1 l of flow. The maximum flow is 0.2 l/s =
720 l /h (which is less than 1024). Scaling and Interval will be set as follows:
• Scaling = 1.00 l
• Interval = 60 s.
Note:
To set Scaling to 1.00 l (flow measurement), decrease Scaling from 0.001 m
3
to
0.999 l, then increase the setting to 1.0 l.
Example 4 An energy meter yields 1 pulse for each kWh of energy consumption. The maxi-
mum power measurement is 1000 kW (which is less than 1024). Scaling and In-
terval will be set as follows:
• Scaling = 1 kWh
• Interval = 60 s.
Example 5 An energy meter yields 1 pulse for each 10 kWh of energy consumption. The
maximum power measurement is 2000 kW (which is greater than 1024). Scaling
and Interval will be set as follows:
• Scaling = 0.01 MWh
• Interval = 60 s.
Note:
To set Scaling to 0.01 MWh (energy measurement), increase Scaling from 1 kWh
to 0.1 MWh, then decrease the setting to 0.01 MWh.
