Apply a Second Layer of Retransfer Material
The CR805 retransfer card printer can apply a second layer of retransfer film to the card for added
durability. The second layer does not contain any images, and is applied to provide added
durability to the card.
You also can use an escape to specify a second retransfer layer. Refer to “Apply a Second
Retransfer Layer Escape” on page 114.
1. Open the Printing Preferences
window.
2. On the Layout tab, click Advanced.
3. Click Apply second layer of retransfer
material and select an option from
the drop-down list:
Front side only—Applies a
second layer of retransfer film to
the front of the card.
Both sides—Applies a second
layer of retransfer film to both
the front and back of the card.
4. Click OK to save the setting and close the Advanced Options window.
5. On the Layout tab, click Apply. Click OK to close the Printing Preferences window.
You cannot apply retransfer film over the magnetic stripe or signature panel on
the back side of the card. Do not request the Both sides option to apply a second
layer of retransfer film if your card has a magnetic stripe or signature panel on
the back side. The second layer of film will be applied over those features and
make them unusable.
