HI, MI, WI-700 service manual - 4 –servicing

Signature labeller - thermal head pressure
The pressure exerted by the air cylinder above the head assembly pushes the thermal head onto the
label, wear strip and silicone tube.
This pressure can affect the quality of the print on the label.
As well as other factors, the thermal head pressure needs to be sufficient for the required print but not
excessive as to cause premature wear to the thermal head, wear strip & silicone tube.
The air pressure can be adjusted by an air regulator fitted in the rear of the labeller
Standard values are:
80mm wide thermal head = 0.25 to 0.3 MPa (2.5 to 3.0 Bar)
108mm wide thermal head = 0.3 to 0.35 MPa (3.0 to 3.5 Bar)
Increasing the pressure up to a maximum of 0.4 MPa (4.0 Bar) may be required for certain label types
