6 When you are finished, press the Stop switch
in the Transport section.
Loop Recording MIDI
To loop record MIDI:
1 Press the Link Edit and Timeline switch in the
Tools & Functions section so that it is lit.
2 Press the Merge Record switch in the Tools &
Functions section so that it is lit.
3 Press the Loop Play switch in the Transport
Modes section so that it is lit.
4 Enable the click by pressing the Click switch
in the Tools & Functions section so that it is lit.
5 Disable Wait For Note and Countoff by press-
ing the corresponding switches in the Tools &
Functions section so that they are unlit.
6 Enable pre- and post-roll by pressing the cor-
responding switches in the Transport Modes
section.
7 Select the range in the Edit window that you
want to loop.
8 Record enable the MIDI or Instrument tracks
where you want to record by pressing their
Record Enable switches.
9 Arm the Pro Tools transport for recording by
pressing the Record switch in the Transport sec-
tion.
10 Press the Play switch in the Transport sec-
tion.
11 When you are finished, press the Stop switch
in the Transport section.
Navigating and Selecting in
the Edit Window
Zooming in the Edit Window
To zoom in horizontally on all tracks:
1 Press the Zoom switch.
2 Press the Right Arrow key.
To zoom out horizontally on all tracks:
1 Press the Zoom switch.
2 Press the Left Arrow key.
To zoom in vertically on all tracks:
1 Press the Zoom switch.
2 Press the Up Arrow key.
To zoom out vertically on all tracks:
1 Press the Zoom switch.
2 Press the Down Arrow key.
To horizontally zoom continuously in the Edit
window:
Hold hold the Command/Ctrl Modifier
switch and turn the Scrub/Shuttle wheel.
To vertically zoom continuously in the Edit
window:
Hold the Command/Ctrl+Opt/Alt (all) Modi-
fier switches and turn the Scrub/Shuttle wheel.
To zoom the current selection to fit the Edit
window:
Hold the Opt/Alt (all) Modifier switch and
press the Zoom switch.
