Operate
Add Rod
If more length is needed, ask a helper to add a rod section.
Disconnect Drill String from Drilling Attachment
1. Stop rotation of drilling attachment.
2. Operate speed/direction controls to move machine in reverse 6” (15 cm) to loosen drill string in ground.

3. Shut down machine. See page 41 for proper shutdown procedures.
4. Disconnect drill string from drilling attachment with special tool (p/n 351-272). See “Disassemble Drill
String” on page 69.
5. Start pedestrian vibratory plow. See page 38 for start-up procedures.
6. Use speed/direction controls to move in reverse 1’ (30 cm), about the length of a rod section.
Rotating shaft will cause death or serious injury. Stay
away.
To help avoid injury: Only access drilling attachment with hands when
engine is shut down.
