8.23 Performing a Pressure Switch
Continuity Test

47 Performing a Pressure Switch Continuity Test
1. Place the control switch in the Off position.
2. Pull the two brown wires off of the pressure switch.
3. Set your multi-meter to the Ohms resistance setting.
4. Attach the leads of the multi-meter, one to each
terminal of the pressure switch.
5. When the fan is running you should have continuity
across the two terminals of the pressure switch.

Consult the operating manual for your multi-meter
for specific device function.
If the reading shows no continuity/open circuit, it
indicates a faulty pressure switch or the pressure
switch hoses could be blocked.

Pressure Hose
1. Place the control switch in the Off position.
2. Pull the two brown wires off of the pressure switch.
3. Note the orientation of the hose and straw.
4. Pull the pressure hose and straw off of the pressure
switch.
5. Remove the two screws securing the pressure switch
to the Water Heater.
6. Remove the pressure switch.
7. Reverse steps 1–6 to install the new pressure switch.
