Head lens
Marking Field
According the head lens, the marking field available are:
The maximum marking field is available when marking is in static mode.
When the marking is 'on the fly', a part of the marking field is used to track the product
during the marking. So, the width of the marking field, in the horizontal direction, is not
maximum. Its value varies according to the target product speed: the faster moves the
product, the less is the width available for the marking field.
Scanning head lenses
Using a specific terminal lens on the scanning head may be justified by the following needs:
• Having a better mark definition, especially for small character marking
• Having a higher energy density in case of hard substrate to code
• Having a larger marking field for a larger marking area availability
• Having a longer or shorter focus distance to facilitate head integration
• Having a larger focus distance tolerance
There’s no single lens which cumulates all these benefits. Choosing a specific lens will lead to
make compromise between all of benefits, according to the application.
Notes :
Lens could be ordered as a separate spare parts.
Because of change of focus distance, there’s a specific shroud assembly per each lens type.
