Obligations for People involved in the Laser market
Such people include manufacturers, importers, traders, suppliers, salesmen and lessors or
renters. Laser appliances often conceal an unexpected and sometimes invisible danger, and
any people involved in this market, it is required to inform the users of any such danger.
Labelling
Prior to any delivery, the supplier must ensure the appliance is correctly labelled.
Declaration of Conformity
Any people involved in the laser appliances market must provide with each appliance a
declaration of conformity certifying that the product satisfies the essential health and safety
requirements concerned (OMBT

EC Certificates and Marking
Laser appliances are not among those products that are required to be certified by an
accredited external body. A declaration of conformity by the people concerned is sufficient
and he himself will affix the CE mark of conformity to the said appliances.
The people concerned may on a voluntary basis request a test report and a certificate for his
product from impartial testing and certifying bodies. A mark of conformity from a certifying
body guarantees the customer that the essential health and safety requirements have been
met.
Instructions
Any people involved in the laser appliances market is required to provide with each appliance
a set of directions describing:
How to use the appliance in accordance with the instructions;
The mandatory precautions to be taken when using the appliance and, if applicable,
when installing it.
Depending on its complexity of the appliance, the above set of directions should include
information on the installation, use and maintenance of the appliance.
