3.1.3 Ignition
You can use the ignition pin to control the start-up and shut-down of the MC50M
without having to disconnect the power supply.
Ignition Input Voltage Range
For product versions 06MC50Mxx without MP1 Power Supply Unit
Supply pin 2 of the power supply connector with 24 V DC nom. or 48 V DC nom. to
turn ignition on.
For prototype versions 06MC50MPxx without MP1 Power Supply Unit
Supply pin 5 of the power supply connector with 24 V DC nom. or 48 V DC nom. to
turn ignition on.
For prototype versions 06MC50MPxx with MP1 Power Supply Unit
Supply pin 5 of the power supply connector with 24 V DC nom. up to 110 V DC nom.
to turn ignition on.
Ignition Behavior
When the power input supply voltage is present and the ignition is turned on (volt-
age higher than 6 V), the 12 V supply voltage inside the system is also switched on
(see figure below).
Only connect 110 V to the power supply connector, if an MP1 Power
Supply Unit is installed to avoid damage to the product.
Signal Direction Function
PWR_GND In GND
+110V_GND In GND +110 V
+24V_IN/+48V_IN In Power in +24 V or +48 V
+110V_IN In Power in +110 V
IGNITION In Ignition
See Chapter Connecting the Power Supply for further information about power
supply connection.
Only for prototype version 06MC50MPxx!
If you use the MC50M without PSU module MP1, bridge pins 3 and 4 (GND
pins) of the power input connector externally to make the ignition work
properly. For the position of the ground pins see Table 4, Pin assignment -
power supply (5-pin M12 A-coded) for 06MC50MPxx on page 46
