3.4.2 Temperature Measurement
The MC50M provides:
Two BMC temperature devices to measure the local board temperature, supported
by firmware (BMC API)
3.4.3 Event Logging
Event logging can help track back faults in case of an incident. The event log is a ring
buffer storing the newest entries in an on-chip non-volatile Flash and overwriting the
oldest events. It is implemented as a function of the BMC firmware and supports 512
entries.
The following units can generate events in the log:
BMC
Application software running on MC50M
The event time stamp is derived from the BMC’s operating hours counter. The length of
power cuts is not visible in the event log.
3.4.3.1 Format of Event Log Entries
Each event log entry consists of the following fields:
Time stamp (TSTAMP): Unique time stamp of the event (5 bytes).
Event source (EV_SOURCE): The source that initiates the event (1 byte).
Event code (EV_CODE): Type of event (2 bytes).
Event info (EV_INFO): Additional info data (4 bytes).
CRC-32: checksum of entire structure (4 bytes).
One event log entry has a total size of 16 bytes.
