Installation
3.1.1 Levelling the pump
The CXS/EH combination system must be located on a firm, level surface to ensure that it works correctly and is not
damaged. The system must be level to a maximum of 3 degrees in any direction, measured at the pump inlet. It can
be located directly on the floor or on a frame. Ensure that access is possible to the emergency stop button (refer to
Figure 2, item 7). Guidance for access areas (general and service) is given in the installation drawings.
The pump is provided with floor mounting plates, Figure 2, item 5. If necessary, fit shims (which you must supply) to
ensure that the system is level.
3.1.2 Securing the pump
If you want to secure the CXS/EH combination system in place to prevent inadvertent movement (for example during
an earthquake), take note of the following:
Systems are provided with 4 off mounting holes in the floor mounting plates as detailed in the installation
drawings.
All systems can be secured by fitting bolts (not supplied) through the mounting holes in the mounting plates.
Use M16 (5/8 inch) bolts with shake-proof washers or other suitable anchor bolts of the same size. Studs are
not recommended, since the floor mounting plates may be removed to exchange or service the CXS pump.
Ensure that bolt size and spacing is adequate for the loads anticipated and the strength of the floor or frame.
To locate the pump directly on the floor, use a concrete foundation with a mass of at least 1.5 times the mass
of the system. Ensure that the length and width of the foundation extend at least 100 mm (4 inches) beyond
the dimensions of the pump.
3.2 Lubrication
The standard EH booster pump and CXS pump require different lubrication oils - see general technical data in
Table 2. Use of incorrect oils could result in damage to the equipment.
Both the CXS pump and EH booster are given a charge of oil before leaving the factory. Before you operate the
system, check the sight glasses in the CXS and EH for the correct level of oil. Refer to the individual instruction
manuals.
