1Introduction
1.1 Scope and definitions
Edwards CXS dry pumps factory fitted with Edwards EH Mechanical boosters are intended to be installed,
commissioned and operated as complete combination systems. This instruction manual details only the specific
information for these pumps operating together as combination systems.
For information relating to the individual pumps, reference should be made to either the CXS or EH manuals
M528-00-880 and A301-51-880 respectively. These manuals contain safety information and must be read, together
with this one, before installing, commissioning, operating or maintaining the pump system. Important safety
information is highlighted as WARNING and CAUTION instructions; you must obey these instructions. The use of
WARNINGS and CAUTIONS is defined below.
In the case where there are contradictions between manuals, instructions and warnings in this manual take
precedence.

Cautions are given where failure to observe the instruction could result in damage to the equipment, associated
equipment and/or process.
The units throughout this manual conform to the SI international system of units of measurement.
The following warning labels are on the pump:
WARNING
Warnings are given where failure to observe the instruction could result in injury or death to
people.
Warning - Refer to accompanying documentation.
Warning - Maximum angle between
paired slings.
Warning - Risk of electric shock. Warning - Heavy object.
Warning - Hot surfaces. Protective Earth (ground).
Warning - Moving parts present. Warning - Risk of explosion.
