5. INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
5.1 SELECT INSTALLATION LOCATION
Before installing the indoor unit, choose a suitable location.
Proper installation locations meet the following criteria:
• Proper airflow around the unit (see recommended clearances listed below)
• Adequate drainage
• Wall that supports the full weight of the unit
• Wall that limits vibration while the unit is running
• At least 3.3 ft. (1m) from any other electrical devices (e.g., TV, radio, computer)
• Allow for the associated tubing to fit through the wall without interfering with other
wiring or piping already in place
DO NOT install the unit in the following areas:
• Near any source of heat, steam, or combustible gas
• Near any flammable items such as curtains or clothing
• Near any obstacle that might prevent air circulation
• Near a doorway or where outside air may blow on the indoor unit
• In direct sunlight exposure
The indoor unit requires the following clearances once mounted in place on the wall.
NOTE: While choosing a location for the indoor unit, be sure to leave ample room for
a wall hole (see Section 5.3) to support the condensation hose, refrigerant line set,
and signal wire. The position for the hole is to the right-hand side of the bracket.
