What to do if the Emerson EIM 2000 Controller motor runs but won't operate the valve?
    • A
      Austin DanielAug 14, 2025
If the motor runs but the Emerson Controller valve doesn't operate, it could be due to a malfunction in the motor bearing assembly, a sheared gear key (fastener pin), stripped gearing, or a broken valve stem/stripped stem nut. You should repair or replace the components as necessary.

How to troubleshoot a motor that will not run on an Emerson EIM 2000 Controller?
    • T
      Tara CollierAug 17, 2025
If the Emerson Controller motor won't run, the control fuse might be blown (check and replace it), there could be an open in the control circuit (refer to the wiring diagram and check for continuity), or there might be an insulation resistance breakdown in the motor (perform a Megger test).

What causes the handwheel to not operate the valve on an Emerson Controller?
    • K
      Karen VaughnAug 21, 2025
If the Emerson Controller handwheel will not operate the valve, it could be due to a handwheel shaft bearing assembly malfunction, sheared gear key or stripped gearing, PS shifter position or malfunction, a broken handwheel shaft, or a broken valve stem or stripped stem nut. Repair or replace the components as necessary.

How to fix moisture in the electrical enclosure of an Emerson EIM 2000 Controller?
    • J
      Jake TaylorAug 25, 2025
If there is moisture in the electrical enclosure of your Emerson Controller, it could be due to leakage through the conduit entry, an improperly sealed electrical enclosure, or an inoperable space heater. Replace the packing as necessary, inspect and replace the O-ring if needed, and check the circuit continuity for the heater.

Why does the Emerson Controller valve only open or close partially with the motor?
    • A
      amanda53Aug 27, 2025
If the Emerson Controller valve only opens or closes partially with the motor, it could be that the torque switch setting is too low, or the limit switch is improperly set. Check the torque switch setting and reset if necessary and check the switch actuation and recalibrate if necessary.

Why is there gear oil in the electrical enclosures of my Emerson EIM 2000 Controller?
    • R
      Robert LopezAug 31, 2025
If gear oil is present in the electrical enclosures of your Emerson Controller, it could be due to a missing pressure relief fitting or a bad seal on the T/L or G/L assembly. Install a pressure relief fitting and replace the Stat-O-Seals or O-Rings.

What to do if there is no power to the Emerson EIM 2000 actuator?
    • H
      hrussellSep 3, 2025
If no power is available to the actuator of your Emerson Controller, it could be due to a tripped circuit breaker. Reset the circuit breaker.

What causes the Emerson EIM 2000 actuator to torque out in mid-travel?
    • E
      Erik BurchSep 6, 2025
If the torque switch is properly set, but the Emerson Controller actuator torques out in mid-travel, open or closed direction, it could be due to a damaged or bent valve stem, valve packing that is too tight or a jammed valve (obstruction in line). Refer to Valve Maintenance.

    Donna SantanaSep 9, 2025
Why is the handwheel hard to turn on my Emerson EIM 2000?
    • A
      Amy WeberSep 10, 2025
If the handwheel is hard to turn on your Emerson Controller, the valve stem may be improperly lubricated (lubricate with grease), the actuator lubrication may have broken down (clean out old grease and replace with recommended lubricant), the valve packing gland may be too tight (loosen packing gland nuts as necessary), the drive sleeve bearing may have failed (replace the bearing). If the valve is jammed, refer to Valve Maintenance.
