6. 6. Optional Insulation (by others)Optional Insulation (by others)
To conserve heat and reduce operating costs we strongly
recommend that the Endless™ pool be insulated with rigid
foam. Simple 1-1/2” (38mm) thick rigid foam insulation
boards are usually adequate and are available from any
building supply store.
There are multiple ways to insulate the pool depending on
the options ordered and finish material being used. If the
pool is to be installed outside in a cold climate, you may
consider using two layers. Be sure to consider the danger
of freezing for any pipes running outside the insulation.
Refer to Figure 1 for insulation details.
INSULATION INSTALLATION #1 - STANDARD
1 layer of rigid foam insulation (A1) w/o optional Ascent
Skirting. Insulation is cut to fit within the panel bays (Fig. 1).
INSULATION INSTALLATION #2 - SUPERIOR
1 layer of rigid foam insulation (A2) w/optional Ascent
Skirting (B). Insulation is cut to fit outside the vertical
panel stiffeners/bottom flange. There is an Air Gap (C)
between the back of the pool panel and insulation and
another between the insulation and skirting. Wood framing
(D) is fastened to the vertical panel stiffeners (outside the
insulation) and down bend of top flange to support the
optional skirting system (Fig. 1).
INSULATION INSTALLATION #3 - OPTIMUM
2 layers of rigid foam insulation (A1) and (A2) w/optional
Ascent Skirting (B). Insulation is cut to fit within the
panel bays AND outside the vertical panel stiffeners/
bottom flange. There is an Air Gap (C) between the back
of the pool panel and insulation and another between the
insulation and skirting. Wood framing (D) is fastened to the
vertical panel stiffeners (outside the insulation) and down
bend of top flange to support the optional skirting system
(Fig. 1).
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Leave access to all of the panel cutouts when you
are installing the insulation.
Join insulation boards at corners and tape seams.
If the optional Ascent Skirting has been ordered,
refer to the Ascent Skirting Framing Supplemental
Guide, as this guide provides specific instructions for
installing the insulation.
If the optional Hydrotherapy Jets have been ordered
and your pool is exposed to freezing conditions,
please refer to the Hydrotherapy Jets Supplemental
Guide for additional insulating measures.
